Koodu - Free computer & Tailoring centre, Nilgiris

A free computer centre and tailroing institute is setup with the help of Little Drops Charity Trust, UK was inaugurated in the month of April 2009. The total project cost of around 2.75 lakhs in INR is beared by LDC and AIMS approved for the building rental advance (10K) and monthly rent for the computer centre building for one year Rs.1500/month). The advance and first two months rental is released to them from AIMS. I had visited this centre on 2nd June 2009 and ensured the project is going on well. 18 students were enrolled in the computer centre and 24 women are enrolled in the tailoring centre. Both the centres are opened for full day and it is a very grace to a village like Kolapally in the remote district of Nilgiris.
